First iPad-controlled home from HomeBase Systems and Life|ware

Posted April 7, 2010 by Nora

While all of the major home control companies were hyping their new iPad software, Life|ware installer HomeBase Systems was quietly making the iPad controlled home a reality!

As of Monday, April 5th at 11:30 AM, this iPad installation was up and running, controlling all the home’s subsytems—Lighting, Security, HVAC, Pool, and Audio.

Paul Hughes, the president and founder of HomeBase Systems, says:

We believe this to be the first fully automated home being run by an iPad as the primary interface. While what an iPad “could” do for a home is interesting to contemplate, we are thrilled to claim a fully-deployed, working installation that we can measure and is delivering exciting solutions for our client.
